This is a “Plein Air” painting of a beautiful historic Episcopal Church that was founded in 1880. It is located at 7 th & Byers in Joplin.

The image you are seeing now was created for a client to show off both a mural in Joplin as well as Main Street in Joplin. The fun part about this was being able to get on a roof top to be able to create this image, the waiting for the perfect time for a great balance between the sun and the mural lights and cars on main street. Basically, waiting for the story to tell itself and being there to capture it at the precise moment when all elements are aligned.

Grand Falls is the largest, continuously flowing natural waterfall in Missouri. This picture was shot in May of 2016, the exposure was 13 seconds so the water would have a smooth flow effect.

The Capri was one of several motels constructed in Joplin in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s to serve motorists traveling Interstate 44. The 30-foot-tall sign with its neon lighting is a favorite of photographers looking to capture images related to roadside culture in the 1960’s
